White Rose FC 0:5 Fairbank United
Wakefield Road - dewsbury
The fringe players were given a chance to put in a stake for the first team , and the team didn’t disappoint as they set about tearing apart their counter parts. Fairbank though were extremely slow to settle, and a poor call from the referee saw White Rose gain a penalty as early as the 5th minute. Luckily the spot kick was blasted high and wide. The pressure continued and Fairbank got away with a couple more near escapes as the make shift defence took time to settle.
Fairbank though slowly started to gain a grip on the game. Good build up play from the left wing saw Nav smash home another beauty from the edge of the area, and from the point on Fairbank took complete control.
Impressive first half performances from new boys Yasser and Zoaib continued the pressure on White Rose, before Kammi converted the second of the game as he flicked on a cross at the near post, which was fumbled into the net by the keeper.
Despite an initial surge from White Rose in the second half, the Fairbank defence held firm, and goals from Quaid and Zoaib further cemented Fairbank’s dominance before Shoulders headed home his first for the senior team.
On a further positive note Akif managed to keep his first clean sheet. Despite having the honour of deputising for many different first choice keepers, this was his first clean sheet since taking up the role in 1996!!
